About

Founded on the belief that sustainable health solutions emerge when organizational expertise meets community wisdom, AJL Community Health bridges the critical gap between traditional consulting and the real-world needs of organizations advancing health justice.

About

Our story

Our Story

AJL Community Health was established after our founder recognized a persistent challenge in the health equity space: organizations with powerful missions often lacked the strategic support needed to maximize their community impact. Traditional consulting approaches frequently overlooked the voices and wisdom of the communities being served, while community-based organizations struggled to access consulting services that truly understood their unique challenges and constraints.

The Gap We Address:

  • Consulting services that fail to center community voices
  • Limited access to culturally responsive strategic support
  • Disconnect between academic theory and practical implementation
  • Need for sustainable capacity building rather than one-time solutions

Our Response: We created a consulting practice that combines rigorous public health expertise with deep commitment to community engagement, ensuring every strategy is both evidence-based and community-driven.

Our Mission

To empower California's health organizations with innovative, practical strategies that center community voices and advance health equity through sustainable, measurable outcomes.
