About

My Story
My journey to public health advocacy is deeply rooted in personal experience. As a Queer Chicano from California's Central Valley, I witnessed firsthand how social factors, institutional policies, and cultural dynamics profoundly impact community health. These experiences shaped my commitment to creating culturally responsive, community-driven solutions for health equity.
Why I Do This Work
As a community health professional and advocate, I understand the transformative power of bridging professional expertise with community wisdom. My practice, AJL Community Health, was born from this understanding. I focus on partnering with organizations that serve communities of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other groups disproportionately affected by health inequities – because I know both professionally and personally that culturally responsive solutions make the difference.
